Dear Friends,
Rotary is the oldest of the service clubs. From it's beginning in Chicago in 1905, the Rotary ideals of friendship, fellowship and service to others have spread to six continents with more than 27,644 clubs in 287 countries and over 1.2 million members.
The Huguenot Trail Rotary club was founded in 1999 and chartered in 2000. It is part of District 7600 in Virginia.
The International Rotary Theme this year is "Leading the Wayf". Huguenot Trail has committed to our community and our world through monetary donations and hands-on-activities with the following organizations: Rotary International, Habitat for Humanity, National MS Society, Polio Plus, Interact-Powhatan High School, Meals-On-Wheels, Bright Beginnings, and the Powhatan Sheriff's Christmas Fund, to name a few.
Our members strive to live by the "4 Way Test":
Of all the things we think, say or do,
- Is it the truth?
- Is it fair to all concerned?
- Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
- Is is beneficial to all concerned?
In the words of our members, this club is energetic, enthusiastic, fun-loving, and dedicated to community and world service. We believe that laughter and shared effort make big jobs works of love. And we know that when we stand together as one, we CAN make a difference in the community and around the world!
Yours in Rotary,
Mary Kay Gates
